A Whale of a Time guest house is famous for whale-watching right in front of the property. Whale season takes place from August to November, September being the best month for the viewing. Whales produce a low-frequency sound that can be heard from the guest house, much to the delight of our guests. Usually, the Southern Right Whales calve right in front of the property. The calves' length at birth ranges from 4.5 to over 7m and many photos and videos have been taken by our visitors who will continue to enjoy the site for years to come. Periodically, a whale may breach the water and fall back with an enormous splash. The perimeter of the bay offers excellent land-based whale watching opportunities, particularly in September and October when whale sightings peak. To see these majestic, gentle creatures of the ocean from just a few meters away is truly awesome. One cannot help but be touched by the grace and playful nature of these leviathans.
